1988 AFOSISA Memorial Service

On 2 August 1988, one day after the 40th Anniversary of OSI’s activation, the first Memorial Service was held for our deceased fellow Special Agents. Fittingly, the Service was held at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Arlington National Cemetery, and a following Memorial program in the Cemetery’s Amphitheatre.
Widows, children and grandchildren were present to honor and remember the nearly 400 former Special Agents of OSI who had died since 1 August 1948. AFOSISA officials and many members were also in attendance as were the AFOSI Commander, members of his staff, and four of the then six living former Directors/Commanders.
