Order of the Sword for Frank Taylor

   Bolling AFB, DC, September 16, 2005, Ambassador Francis X. Taylor, former commander, AFOSI, was awarded the order of the Sword by Command Chief Master Sergeant Lynne Shell in a ceremony at the The Club at Bolling AFB. Present for the ceremony in additional to Ambassador Taylor's family and current and former members of AFOSI were also the only three previous AFOSI Order of the Sword recipients, Brigadier General Richard S. Beyea, Colonel Richard R. Law, and Colonel Raymond W. (Terry) Owens.

The enlisted Corps of AFOSI based their decision to induct Ambassador on their findings he:

•  created enormous improvements impacting the morale and welfare of all people assigned to the command;

•  significantly improved the professional development opportunities of enlisted;

•  increased the number of Special Agent in Charge positions to the largest in the command's history;

•  through prior planning greatly improved the command's counterintelligence and antiterrorism capability, thereby, allowing a rapid response to the terrorists attacks on our country, and.

approved the AFOSI Hall of Fame to celebrate the diverse success of the command's people.
