Hall of Fame Nomination

Who is Eligible

Consideration for entry into the AFOSI Hall of Fame shall be open to all former military and civilian AFOSI personnel including agent, non-agent, and reservist, living or deceased, who were assigned to HQ AFOSI, the AFOSI Academy, and all AFOSI field units to include predecessor organizations and overseas OSI organizations for the period of January 1948 to present.

Who May Nominate

Current and former members of AFOSI including active duty military, reservists, civilians and retirees may nominate candidates to the Hall of Fame. Individuals may  nominate more than one candidate as long as a separate nominating package is provided for each. Once a person is nominated, their nomination package stays active for two additional years and as such is considered by the Selection Board three times. In the event an individual is not selected by the board, there is no prohibition in having the package rewritten. If the person making the nomination feels strong enough about their nomination to rework the written justification.

Criteria

Nominees must have demonstrated exceptional leadership traits in accomplishing their duties and in overcoming unique problems and emergencies whether they were performed as a support person, street agent, unit commander or some other capacity within the command. They must have inspired others by personal example, by character and conduct displayed as leaders or team players, and by their eagerness and dedication to meeting unit goals and getting the job done. Their performance on the job must have been above and beyond what was expected of the duties assigned, and sustained over a period of time.
A HOF candidate must have been retired or separated from AFOSI service at least five years before becoming eligible for nomination. An individual may have demonstrated superior performance, leadership and conduct over a lengthy period of time that set them apart from their contemporaries. Mere length of service in AFOSI will not suffice. The individual must stand out as a top performer. Another person may have made a unique contribution to AFOSI and the Air Force over a brief period of time that resulted in the successful conduct or completion of a crucial activity or operation that marks them as a candidate for inclusion in the Hall of Fame
Many of you may have personal and fond remembrances of particular associates and friends from their years in OSI. Nominations, however, must consider how the individual impacted a particular AFOSI unit or AFOSI as a whole as opposed to emotional type feelings based on a personal relationship.
