Current Membership

   The current membership is 114, which includes members residing in IL, KY, ME, and NC (who have moved out of the NCR or reside in areas where there are no organized chapters due to lack of local Association members).

Location and Area Covered

   The Chapter covers the National Capital Region (NCR) which includes the District of Columbia, Suburban Maryland, and Northern Virginia, in the conventional sense of the commuting area of the District of Columbia.

Recurring Activities

Chapter Newsletter

   Luncheon meetings are held monthly January through November on the third Wednesday of the month at the The Club at Andrews AFB from 1130 to 1300 hours. Prior reservations are encouraged by telephone before COB on the Monday prior to the meeting at (703) 978-6198 (answering machine), or by E-mail to: ElCid61R@aol.com.
   Leave a message with your name and a statement that you will attend the luncheon. Walk-ins, without reservations, generally can be accommodated.
   An annual Holiday Party is held early in December usually at the Army Navy Country Club, Arlington, VA, on a date to be announced in the November edition of the Chapter Newsletter and on this page. [This year it is 7 December 2006.]

   The Informant is published monthly January through November on the second Tuesday of each month and sent first class mail to all members. Contact the Secretary to elect viewing the electronic version only. [In December, a Chapter Membership Directory is published in lieu of the newsletter.]
   The newsletter serves to inform the members of current chapter activities, information about members, and information about HQ AFOSI activities and personnel that may be of interest to our retired members. It also serves as a source of data for the Editor of the Global Alliance about the membership for subsequent publication to all Association members. All contributions to the newsletter are welcomed and may be submitted by E-mail to the Secretary.

Qualifications for Membership

   A person wishing to join the chapter must be a member in good standing of the AFOSISA national association, and either reside or have a business located within the NCR. Non-AFOSISA members may be processed concurrently for membership at both levels.
